The service of permanent and temporary accommodation of people with intellectual disabilities

The program (service) of permanent and temporary accommodation is provided in the Centre’s own estate with houses (each house has two two-bedroom apartments) where beneficiaries live like family groups. The number of members of the groups is constant (six beneficiaries per apartment) and groups are created taking into account the levels of general and specific condition and skills of the group members according to which individual work plans for the beneficiaries are developed. Through the rehabilitation program of Participation in Everyday Life procedures are implemented to train self-care and looking after oneself, and all members are involved in the group program according to their personal needs and abilities. Professional group leaders and therapists, and assisting personnel, provide the best results with a high quality of life of the beneficiaries. Independent living groups (inclusion) outside the place where the institution is located (two-room apartment in a residential building in Solin and a family house in Kaštel Štafilić) whose members (beneficiaries) work at local companies, are the best model of inclusion of the beneficiaries in regular social environment
